What is the Quality of Die Casting Parts in 2022?
Die Casting Part Quality, What Is The Quality Of Die Casting Parts?
Die casting parts are formed in a die casting tool to a specific shape and size. The variance of one die casting part to another part from the same tool after the tool is proven is very little.
The typical dimensional tolerance for a die casting part is about +/- .002″ from point to point over a short distance. Once the die casting tool is proven, the dimensions from point to point vary only a little. The blue print tolerance for a two decimal dimension (.xx) is usually +/- .015″ and the typical three decimal dimension (.xxx) tolerance is +/- .010.
The biggest variance on a die casting part are measurements:
1. From one side of the parting line to the other, or
2. Dimensions measured from a slide to another part feature.
PARTING LINE
The parting line is the area on the part where the two sides of the tool meet and create a seam in the material.
SLIDE
A slide is a solid member in the tool that creates under cuts. An undercut is a feature that can not be created by pulling the tool apart or a feature that is not perpendicular to the parting line.
Other issues such as POROSITY or FLATNESS or WALL THICKNESSES will be discussed in other newsletters.

The Evolution of Die Casting Process in 2022
The Evolution of Die Casting Process
Literally, the die casting process is a worldwide-known technique which puts together the metallic and plastic parts in a much inexpensive manner. The industry has several applications running and many of which employ the same procedure. The method has been in effect for hundreds of years now and through all these times, the materials and the approach in the technique has likewise changed significantly. As a result, the final outputs are much more impressive these days.
Several hundreds of years ago, the die casting process was confined to that of pouring the molten metal into the die. The process is further known as gravity pressure method. Towards the 1900s when the zinc and aluminum alloys were already available, a lot other die casting application came forth.
The following are among the commonly used die casting process in these days.
The so-called pressure injection process is likewise known as squeeze casting which involves the inputting of any heated metal part in the mold and applying the pressure by means of leverage.
Computer die casting is the procedure that teams up the method with the usefulness of modern technology. The manufacturing industry is nowadays too dependent on the use of computers and it is in this sense that it employs the design and fabrication of the die casting materials.
Anyhow, the concept of die casting process is still intact. What has changed over the number of years is the advancement in the method, the materials used, and the type of technology that aids in the more effective generation of the output at a much reasonable price.

New Aluminum Handle Hardware in 2022
New Aluminum Handle Hardware. Home is the best place to be. Can you imagine living inside a house with broken doors or cabinet handles? Of course not! You should make sure your handles are strong and tight to prevent your children from getting wounds and bumps or more importantly avoid thieves to get inside your house easily. Using New Aluminum Handle Hardware for your doors, windows, cabinets, and other home furniture is highly recommended with its aluminum-made steel components. Since you need handles to carry or pull things, you must make sure that your handles are durable and tight. Aluminum is perfect for this, it is known in producing strong and light in weight steel.
Also since this New Aluminum Handle Hardware are die casted, they are manufactured as whole steel. Unlike the other products wherein you need to assembly on whole equipment from separate parts, the New Aluminum Handle is one piece with strengthening ribs and radii. The holes are also casted respectively. Therefore, you can make sure it stronger than the other products. Better part is that with die casting, the New Aluminum Handle Hardware is manufactured in a method wherein the sides of the finished product doesn’t injure people with its pointed parts

Die Casting Part Pricing-How Die Casting Part Prices are Established in 2022
Die Casting Part Pricing – How to Die Casting Part Prices are Established.
Kinetic Die Casting Company has a specific pricing model that is similar and also different from our competitors. Here are a few issues to think about when asking for a die-casting part price.
- Die Casting Part Size
- Die Casting Part Weight
- Die Casting Material Type
- Inspection Requirements
- Die Casting Part Quantity
- Die Casting Part Tolerances
- Die Casting Part Specifications
- Die Casting Tooling Types
- Additional Labor Needs
- Die Casting Part Secondary Finishing
- Other Fees
The die casting part size and weight effect the part price in a few ways, cycle times or parts per hour, the machine tonnage size required to produce the parts and the part material cost, which also relates to the die casting material type.
The inspection requirements can vary depending on if a (1) visual inspection, or a (2) dimensional inspection or a (3) penetration inspection or an (4) X-Ray inspection or a (5) pressure test inspection are required.
The part quantity has an effect because it will determine if some of the many “one time” or “minimum charge” fees are covered in the production lot.
Die casting part specifications and tolerances add additional labor to a simple casting through inspection and documentation.
The die casting tool can effect the part price by how many cavities are in the tool, how many slides are in the tool, whether additional labor can be removed by the tool, and also if a trim die is available. The mold type also has an effect in the set up time for tooling.
Many times additional labor are needed to complete the die casting part, like threading holes, which also adds to the part cost. Can we use high speed production machining or do we need to use CNC machines.
If there is a polish, ball burnish, bead blast, paint or anodize requirement, that will add to the part cost.
Other fees, some die casting companies charge a “Set Up Fees” or an “Environmental Fees” or an “Energy Surcharge Fees” or a packaging or pallet fee, we do not have any of these hidden fees.
Obviously, this newsletter (already too long) cannot give enough details to satisfy everyone but call us at:

The Advantages of Aluminum Hardware Brackets over Plastic
Advantages of Aluminum Hardware Brackets over Plastic:
- Plastic is an insulator, while aluminum is electrically conductive. Plastic will need a special coating to achieve a similar result with aluminum (albeit inferior).
- Plastic does not ground, thus it requires extra grounding metal straps. Aluminum, being a metal, is easily grounded.
- Aluminum has a natural shield against RF and EMI, preventing radio frequency. Plastic does not block radio frequency.
- Aluminum brackets are much stronger than plastic injection moldings.
- Aluminum metal is stiff, while plastic injection moldings are too elastic for numerous applications.
- Plastic molded parts do not do well for chrome plating.
- Plastic can not obstruct electromagnetic emissions.
- Plastic does not do well with many coatings, while aluminum brackets do better on the department.
- Aluminum parts are stable, whereas plastic injection parts are not quite dimensionally stable.
- Plastic molded parts do not do well in conditions of hot and humid temperatures. Aluminum hardware is more heat resistant.
- One big problem with plastic is that they are not recyclable. Only less than 3% of the plastic will be recyclable. Nearly all metals, aluminum die castings in particular, are always readily recyclable.
- Aluminum die castings are non-hazardous and pose no problems to the government.
