REACH and RoHS 3 Compliant 2022

Kinetic Die Casting Company Parts use RECYCLED Materials in our die casting metal alloys. Kineticdc complies with the EU RoHS 3 standards. Die casting alloys have less than 0.1% of any of the REACH chemicals.

REACH
Registration: Chemical producers are required to register safety data for all chemicals produced.
Evaluation: Experts from member states and the European Agency evaluate safety data for higher volume chemicals and other chemicals of concern.
Authorization: Chemicals that are “substances of very high concern” (SVHC) are to be phased out and replaced with safer alternative chemicals.
Chemicals Restriction: Chemicals may be completely banned or some uses of the chemicals can be restricted

REACH and RoHS 3 Compliant 2022

REACH (Registration, Evaluation, Authorization and Restriction of Chemicals, EC 1907/2006) is the European Union’s chemical regulation that requires that chemical substances on their own, in preparations and all intentionally released substances from articles must be registered with the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA).

The regulation applies to substances manufactured in, or imported to the EU in annual quantities of 1 ton or more. According to the REACH requirements on Substances of Very High Concern (SVHC) a supplier of manufactured and imported articles shall provide customers with information on SVHC if they are present above a concentration limit of 0.1 % on an article level. SVHC will be defined through the list of candidate substances for authorization that is produced by the European Chemicals Agency.

Die Casting Zinc Alloys in 2022

Die Casting Zinc Alloys

Die casting zinc alloys to offer castability, a broad range of excellent physical and mechanical properties, and finishing characteristics. The advantages of utilizing zinc alloys include thin walls, close dimensional tolerances, and variation in section design. Compared to others, die-casting zinc alloys have higher strength components.

The die maintenance is reduced and the die life is lengthened because of the lower temperatures under which zinc alloy is cast. There are several companies that manufacture a complete range of die-casting zinc alloys. One of them is the Eastern Alloys.

Die casting zinc alloys have high strength and hardness, which makes them ideal alternatives for machined, pressed, stamped, and fabricated items. Normally cast alloys are non-ferrous and there is a large number available with a wide range of physical and mechanical properties covering almost every conceivable application a designer might require. Die casting zinc alloys are among the most widely used because of their low melting point. Usually, low melting point alloys are cast in a hot chamber machine while intermediate and high melting alloys are cast in cold chamber machines.

One of the fastest and most cost-effective methods for producing a wide range of components is die casting. The major benefit from this process can be achieved if the designers were able to collaborate with the die caster at an early stage of product development and design. In order to help resolve issues that affect the tooling and production during the design phase, it is best to consult the die caster at the earliest possible time.

    A380 Aluminum versus A413 Aluminum 2022

The two more common types of die casting aluminum used by Kinetic die Casting Company are A380 aluminum and A413 aluminum. There are reasons to use either metal.

So here are a few of the details (http://www.kineticdiecasting.com/casting_aluminum.html):

    A380
    Availability – More
    Material cost – Less
    Flexibility – More
    Thermal Conductivity – Less
    Electrical Conductivity  – More
    Pounds/Inch – More
    Pressure Tight – Less
    Surface Polish – Less

    Aluminum Prices March 2022

Die Casting Alloy Materials Are Crazy. I am getting calls from the customers of my competitors asking that I quote a part price. I always refuse to quote because my competitor is facing the same material cost increases I am facing. Some die casting materials, like za27, are not available today. I will have to wait a few weeks for material. I’ve never seen this before.

In the past, prior to 2020, the die casting metal alloy prices were like gentle waves on the ocean, they go up, they come down. I have always ridden the waves in the past by not increasing or changing the part prices for material increases. But I can’t ride the increased material costs anymore.

Today, the cost of aluminum alloy for die casting increased another $0.05 a pound. Zinc alloys have risen similarly. That is an increase that I have never seen in my 30 years in business. My customers will also unfortunately have to pay a higher part price Or I cannot supply them the parts.

If you have a good supplier, pay the higher part cost. They cannot avoid the cost increases. Die Casting Aluminum Alloy Prices in March 2022 are Crazy.
