Die Casting Company. The die casting business is the most crucial industry in the United States. Ninety percent of all finished manufactured products hold die cast parts. Every die casting company adds to the 7.3 billion-dollars that the country’s economy generates every year. That’s a lot of money!
When lookimg for a die casting company for your business, it is best to ask at the North American Die Casters Association (NADCA) to make certain that you will not have future arguments with this die casting company. There are several companies that advertise metal parts at a cheaper cost but some of these companies manufacture metal parts that don’t meet the exacting standards. This might jeopardize your business by forcing your products to have poor quality. You might be reducing your production cost but you are taking an enormous risk for your company. It is best to work with an American die casting company than a business situated offshore. Offshore businesses have a tendency to termination of commitments and to have holdup in manufacturing die cast parts. Most of them insist an advance payment but might not finish the job. It would be very hard to track them down. These businesses may also be utilizing uncertified metal alloys and unidentified materials which add to the chance of product failures.
Select an American die cast company because they meet the rigid standards of the NADCA in die casting. They can be examined and be held responsible for any failures and actions that might influence your business.

Alcastco Diecasting is closing
May 13, 2013 – Alcastco Diecasting is closing. The management of Alcastco Die Casting Company, has announced that they will be closing by next month, June 2013.
They were located at 9180 San Fernando Road in Sun Valley California, just two miles away from Kinetic Die Casting Company.
Kinetic Die Casting offered positions to many of the Alcastco Diecasting employees.
Alcastco was known as one of the two least expensive die casting companies in Southern California. It looks like the ownership of Alcastco ran out of money.

We listed Alcastco on our blog as one of the few remaining Southern California Die Casting Companies. Now we will need to list them on the list of California Die Casting Company Closed.
Alcastco Die Casting Company
Alcastco Die Casting Company was established and has been at its current location since 1995. Alcastco was the former Kwick Cast Die Casting Company, and they located at 9180 San Fernando Road in Sun Valley California, just two miles away from us, Kinetic Die Casting Company. Many of the Alcastco Diecasting employees stayed with the company when it transferred from Kwickcast to Alcastco almost 20 years ago.
Alcastco primarily produces outdoor light products, their two largest customers are competitors in the outdoor lighting field: Kim Lighting Company and Sun Valley Lighting Company.
Alcastco produces parts in aluminum, brass and zinc. Brass (#1) and aluminum (#2) being the most of their business and then zinc (#3). They die cast zinc using cold chamber die casting machines.
Alcastco was known throughout Southern California as one of the two cheapest or least expensive if you prefer, die casting companies around. But, it looks like the ownership of Alcastco ran out of money, just conjecture on my part. Yesterday, I learned from the management of Alcastco that they will be closing their doors by the end of May or June 2013.
It is sad to me that another Southern California Manufacturing company is closing. I will personally miss Alcastco Die Casting Company and their competitive fighting spirit.

Die Casting Company Closures 2012
14 January 2013 – There were 38 Die Casting Companies in Southern California in 1994. Kinetic Die Casting Company was founded in 1994.
From 1994 to 2013 is 19 years. That period of time seems like a long term or a short term, depending on your frame of reference. For a house pet 19 years is a long time. For a manufacturing company, 19 years is just getting into a healthy stride. Manufacturing companies depend on job-shop manufacturing companies, such as Kinetic Die Casting Company, to make their aluminum and zinc parts. Die Casting is essential in producing manufacturing metal parts.
On Monday, December 20th, 2010, I wrote an article because I was shocked at the closure of another die casting company competitor, 12 closed die casting companies since Kinetic Die Casting was founded in 1994. The article was titled:

Now, two (2) years later the list has grown by another six (6) die casting companies. Six company closures in two years is very significant. Since 1994, there are 18 Die Casting Companies that are gone in the last 19 years. Many of these companies were 30 to 50 years old. These companies are listed below:

Of the remaining 21 die casting companies, some are doing very well, while others will probably die off in the next two years. Kinetic Die Casting Company, is one of the healthier companies because we are growing while others are declining.
I do not believe that these 18 missing manufacturing company suppliers should be easily forgotten. People lost jobs. People lost hope. California has a weaker economy because these 18 manufacturing supplier companies are gone or absorbed. I am sorry to see the passing of these great companies.

When I posted the list, (Thursday, December 30th, 2010), there were 26 die casting companies remaining in Southern California. Two (2) years later, five (5) more die casting companies have closed or were taken over. Now, as of December 27, 2012, there are 21 die casting companies remaining in Southern California.

- If the die casting parts you are buying are “cheap” or more expensive everywhere else you look, your die casting supplier is hurting and may go out of business.
- If your die casting supplier does go out of business, how do you get your die casting tooling?
