Low Quantity Diecastings

Low Production Die Castings Cost. Heating plates are mostly seen in the home and in laboratory equipment that need continuous heating or source of heat like chocolate fountains. Many manufacturers prefer producing heating plates using aluminum alloy because this alloy has thermal properties that are suitable to play the role of heating plates. Many manufacturers also use die casting in producing heating plates because they find it more convenient and economical to use as compared to other processes.

In die casting, aluminum is melted by exposing to extremely high temperature. When the metal is already melted, it will be injected in molds or dies to take the shape of the parts. Afterward, when the metal is already solidified, the parts or casts in the dies will be removed and will be slightly polished. The parts are near net shape, meaning they are produced as whole parts so joints will be avoided. This makes the pressure die casting more efficient because it produces stronger and more durable products unlike other processes like extrusion. In extrusion, the products produced are in cross section making the parts less durable as compared to die casting. Aside from this, heating plates do not need hollow parts like that of what will be produced in extrusion. Lastly, pressure die casting is much inexpensive than extrusion that is why many manufacturers use die casting instead of extrusion.

Use of Diecasting Plates

Why should you use Die Cast Heating Plates? Die Cast Heating Plates are used for many industrial purposes. Examples of their uses include the manufacture of toys, plumbing, cell phones, computers, automobiles, machines and kitchen metal parts. Unknown to many, die casting plates are used for almost every important thing in our day to day lives.

One good example of a Die Cast Heating Plate at work is a chocolate fountain. Chocolate fountains are often used in parties, receptions and other important events. The heater plate keeps the chocolate warm and flowing for several hours.

Generally, Aluminum Die Cast Heating Plates are favored by the general public, preferred by both in households and business establishments. Die casting offer better quality than by other manufacturing processes such as stamping, mold casting, forging and extrusion.

Why should you use Die Cast Heating Plates? The most obvious reason is that the metal used, aluminum, is one of the most copious metals on earth. Since aluminum supply is almost unlimited, the metal is affordable compared to other metals. It also has plenty of advantageous characteristics. It is lightweight, making the production process easier and faster. Its no surprise why many companies opt for this method compared to other more costly methods.

PORT-A-BLAST Sand Blast Gun

This newsletter is a guest posting from our customer. Perfect for all of your portable sandblasting needs. The PORT-A-BLAST sand blast gun is a complete sand blast unit. Fill the container with the abrasive material needed for the project. Connect the gun to your air supply. 60 to 150 P.S.I. will work. We recommend 100 to 150 P.S.I. pressures for quicker and better results. The greater the pressure the faster the cutting. Now you are ready to go. Be sure that the operator is wearing both eye (goggles) and nose (respiratory mask) protection. Continuous abrasive dust inhalation (especially silica dust) can be harmful. For larger projects the gun can be used to siphon abrasives or liquids from a hopper or bucket with the use of a flexible siphon tube and eliminating the one quart container.
PORT-A-BLAST
The PORT-A-BLAST is a very reliable and sturdy tool. It is built to give long continuous service. It has been manufactured in the US for over 30 years with users still using their original gun. In order for the user to properly care for the unit and prevent damage to the zinc cast body the inner end of the nozzle and the outer end of the jet need to be examined periodically. (At least once a day under continuous use.) When the nozzle is worn to approximately 1/16” wall thickness it should be replaced. The jet should be replaced when it wears enough to cut into the air hole. In addition to the nozzle and jet, all of the other PORT-A-BLAST parts and accessories are available for replacement or expanded function.

People Prefer Diecastings

People Prefer Die Cast Parts. Die cast consumer parts are now the popular choice among the general public, including households and businesses. First of all, the consumer parts produced through die casting are of better quality than those produced by stamping, forging, extrusion, mold casting, and other manufacturing processes.

Various companies today are contracting die casting companies to produce consumer parts that are to be used for modern industrial purposes. Examples of the die castings used by consumers today are found in cellular phones, computers, automobiles, industrial machines, and even in toys, plumbing components, and kitchen metal parts. Truth is, almost every important thing we use in our daily lives has die castings installed in them; we are just unaware of how these were manufactured and what processes were done to incorporate these die castings in them.

Majority of these are aluminum die castings. This is due to obvious reasons. First, aluminum is one of the most abundant metals on earth. Its supply is almost unlimited. Due to this high supply, aluminum is less expensive compared to other metals. Aluminum is also a very light metal, making the whole production process easier, faster and cheaper. Especially in the manufacture of cars, this light weight of aluminum contributes greatly to the ability of the car to get better fuel economy. Other advantages of aluminum include the fact that it is recyclable, malleable and corrosion-resistant. Given these benefits, it is no wonder why major manufacturing companies are now turning to aluminum as an alternative to other metals such as steel or iron.

Custom Table Diecast Part

Recently, Tom stopped by my office. He is wanting a new aluminum product design. He wants a die casting product for a custom table. He has been CNC machining parts from aluminum. He wants to mass produce hundreds or thousands of aluminum parts. He believes die casting is his best option. We talked together about his options of continuing to CNC machine the parts, aluminum sand casting, and aluminum die casting parts. We talked about matching die casting draft angles. We talked about reducing part weight while increasing part strength. We talked about various die casting alloy materials. We talked about other potential die casting issues relating to production, such as ejector pin locations and porosity in thick sections. I believe Tom will be a very informed and happy customer.
