Sand Casting and Die Casting Light Fxtures KDC
Kinetic Die Casting Company has made Aluminum Die Casting Lighting Fixture Parts from aluminum sand castings. A customer who is a lighting fixture parts manufacturer purchased an aluminum sand casting fixture for one of his lighting products. This sand cast part is an “Aluminum Trolley Mount” used to hold his lighting fixtures from the ceiling in a room. This aluminum trolley fixture has to be strong and look good to be part of his lighting products. He has been using this aluminum sand casting for quite a long time. The initial sand casting cost less to get started with a new product line and die casting cost a little more. The sand casting tooling costs less than $5,000 to get started and the part price in this case is about $70 each part. My customer buys about 50 parts a month. His total cost to purchase these castings in a year after the tooling is paid for would be $70 per part times 12 times per year times 50 parts per month ($42,000 per year). Can this part be cost effectively produced as an aluminum die casting lighting fixture?
Aluminum Lighting Fixture Die Castings
The die casting part will require die cast tooling. This tooling will take about 10 weeks to be made and will cost about $28,000 to be made. This seems too expensive for some but if the annual total cost is calculated it will show that the tooling cost is justified. The part price in this case is $8 each part. A simple calculation will show the cost of the die castings with the die casting tooling will be better than the cheaper sand casting price.
Aluminum Die Castings
Part Price — $ 8
Annual Quantity — 600
Total parts cost — $ 4,800
Tooling cost — $28,000
Total product cost — $32,800
Aluminum Sand Castings
Part Price — $ 70
Annual Quantity — 600
Total parts cost — $42,000
Tooling cost — Paid for already
Total product cost — $42,000
The aluminum die casting option will cost about $9,000 less the first year and over $30,000 less each year afterwards. Die casting aluminum is a better option.

KDC Aluminum Enlightenment: What Are Die Casting Aluminum Lighting Fixture Parts
Aluminum Enlightenment: What Are Die Casting Aluminum Lighting Fixture Parts. A large, reliable source of light keeps the progress of the city’s daily (and night) life. This is why keeping every home and infrastructure well-lit is very important. By the simple use of electricity, light is created and supports man for the rest of the day. Many have already made certain compromise on utilizing electricity light resources in efficient and power-saving standards. Solar-powered engine is indubitably the best way to save power in the production of electricity light. Another way of maintaining light is the use of efficient lighting fixtures.
What are die casting aluminum lighting fixture parts? These are specially made enclosures or housings used to hold light bulbs and other power supplies. They can be in any shape, size and the capacity to hold electricity as it flows around the bulb. Because it is made of die cast aluminum, these lighting fixture parts can be durable, cheap and easy to produce.
Another question then arises: what are die casting aluminum lighting fixture parts for and what makes them more beneficial than normal lighting fixture parts? Lighting fixture parts are often made of plastic, and it also has the same use to that of aluminum. But the advantage of aluminum is its being less prone to corrosion, electrically conductible, uses naturally abundant resources (unlike plastic), inexpensive, it is more resilient and can even weigh lighter than plastic lighting fixtures. Answering the question,
“What are Die Casting Aluminum Lighting Fixture Parts for?” They are for enlightenment – they durably support our light by being light concerning both weight and budget.

Light Made of Zinc: Its Applications in Lighting
Light Made of Zinc: Its Applications in Lighting. Lighting is something that is valued and used by millions worldwide. At one time the source of light was a modest camp fire built out of rubbing two sticks together, contemporary technology has progressed to make it easier for humans to enjoy light.
The creation of the electric bulb must have shocked the world. The use of gas lights made homes and streets liable to unintentional fires. It was once unsafe to strike a match inside a person’s home. But with the advent of new technology, turning on a light has never been easier.
Of course this technology would not be conceivable without the parts that make up a light. Whether it is an uncomplicated desk lamp or a red head used in film and TV productions, all lamps and lights are fitted with metal parts that form its whole. Since light energy manufactures heat, these materials must be able to endure dangerous temperatures in order to be useful. This is where the process of using zinc as a raw material comes in.
With the use of zinc die casting, zinc lighting parts can be assembled as materials with high temperature conductivity. Electrical components, particularly those which need high energy generation, need high conductivity rates. Lamps, particularly those used in film and TV production, could be used for hours on end, therefore underlining a high need for good thermal conductors. This can be attained, with high success, through
zinc die casting. Lighting parts need not be made of deficient material.
Light should not, at all costs, grow dim because of mediocre quality.
