The department offers courses and programs in the areas of Automotive Service Technology, Electronics, Engineering Design & Technology, Machining, CNC, and Welding.
Machine Shop/CNC Course Information:
– Industrial Technology 130 – Beginning machine shop. Come explore the world of machine tools, the history of machining and get hands on machining your very own parts. This class is designed for the beginner, no experience necessary. This is a foundational building block for any person who wants to be a engineer.
– Industrial Technology 230 – Intermediate machine shop. We take your experience from IT230 and give you more. More turning, more milling and a more complex part to machine. This class is designed to push your comfort zone from basic machining to the next level.
– Industrial Technology 330 & 332 – Advanced machine shop. Many students create their own projects in the advanced classes. Many machine parts for a project they are working on at home. The advanced student usually will be asked to be on the WESTEC or AERO DEF teams to machine a part for a college competition. Many students do both, create their own parts and the help with the competition

Be Careful of children driving home this weekend. Halloween is fun for children to trick or treat. The costumes are sometimes dark so that the children “appear” scary. The dark costumes are difficult to see after sunset. Some smaller kids get excited and run across the street without looking. Please be careful while driving at night.

LAVC Manufacturing Day with Congressman Tony Cárdenas
On Friday October 21, 2016 Kinetic Die Casting Company was one of the manufacturing companies that participated in the Los Angeles Valley College LAVC Manufacturing Day with Congressman Tony Cárdenas. This was the MANUFACTURING SHOWCASE, that included Training & Career Opportunities. There were from 200 to 250 high school kids at the event. We are hoping that many of them will look into manufacturing as a possible career course. There were also several unemployed adults that are participating in the LAVC retraining program. This event was a huge success.
This is a message from our Congressman Mr. Cárdenas:
“Throughout my twenty years in public service, and as a former small business owner, my goal has always been to support the growth of small and mid-sized businesses in the San Fernando Valley. Knowing just how critical small businesses are to our community and the U.S. economy, I would like to personally invite you to attend a Manufacturing Day Event on October 21st that I am hosting. Kinetic Die Casting brought samples of die casting parts as well as brochures and business cards for people to get interested in manufacturing. We also had about 20 pounds of candy that kept the 200 to 250 high school kids coming back to our table.
