Boxes, Enclosures

Businesses have a lot of options to package their products, freebies, or marketing materials. These options include the usual cardboard, corrugated, plastic, set up, or wood boxes. Aside from these, a new option has been created in aluminum boxes. Aside from that, these aluminum boxes, aluminum enclosures or aluminum housings also have other uses.

These are boxes made out of aluminum alone or in combination with acrylic. The die casting companies can choose from any style like tote box, two-piece set up, or like CD/DVD boxes. The boxes can have details for aesthetics like laser etching, anodizing, and powder coating.

Aluminum Housings, aluminum enclosures and aluminum boxes are all quite associated in that they cover something as packaging media. These aluminum boxes can conduct electricity so that means it can easily get grounded. Aluminum Boxes, Aluminum Enclosures and Aluminum Housings for Packaging and for Protection

Most of these boxes are aluminum die castings because the production entails lesser labor requirements and the production process is much faster. What’s more, these aluminum castings weigh lighter that the steel fabricated parts.

Depending on how big or heavy the parts are, about a few hundreds to a few thousands of these can be produced every day. These aluminum boxes or aluminum housings are usually used for: engine enclosures for automobiles and trucks, housing for computer disk drives, motors, communication companies, car transmission housings, and for electrical junction boxes.

Aside from using Aluminum Enclosures for packaging of retail products, they are used as enclosures for electronic products that are sensitive to dust, moisture, or sudden impact. These aluminum boxes are used to protect the items from damage of any sort.

Military Parts Enclosure Castings

Aluminum boxes are needed by many industries including the military. Enclosure castings and Housing castings are aluminum box castings or aluminum die casting parts. These enclosures are typically designed to hold electronic components into place using a printed circuit board or PC Board. Military Parts Enclosure Castings usually need to be anodized to protect the exterior from damage. Sometimes the Military Parts Enclosure Castings are powder coated or painted for aesthetic reasons. occasionally these Military Parts Enclosure Castings need to be impregnated with a sealing material specified by the U.S. Government blueprints and then also penetrant inspected or Zyglo inspected to ensure the Military Parts Enclosure Castings do not have porosity and are not cracked. Military Parts Enclosure Castings need to be machined to mount “D” connectors and to add threads for screws to mount a cover for the box.

Kinetic Die Casting Company produces aluminum die casting parts, including Military Parts Enclosure Castings. When we produce aluminum die casting parts, we also supply certifications for “Material Certifications” and “Certification of U.S. Manufacture” and “Certification of Conformance” and “Certification of Processes”.

Military Parts Enclosure Castings are die cast aluminum boxes used by companies to produce military parts. Die Casting Tooling can take as little as six to eight weeks but typically it takes ten to twelve weeks to make tooling for die castings. After the tooling is made, Kinetic Die Casting can ship parts in two weeks. The typical delivery for Military Parts Enclosure Castings is from four to six weeks.

Aluminum Boxes

Aluminum Box Castings are aluminum boxes made as aluminum die casting. These aluminum boxes are produced at the rate of hundreds to thousands each day in the aluminum die casting process. The box and cover may be diecasted at the same time for a smaller aluminum box and cover.

Aluminum Box Castings are a natural RF or EMI shield for your electronic components. What is RF or EMI shielding, you may ask? What does RF and EMI shielding mean? RF (Radio Frequency) and EMI (Electrical Magnetic Inductance) are electronics terms for protection. RF/EMI shielding blocks radio waves and radio frequency from interfering with the electronics inside the aluminum box or prevents the electronic frequency from inside the box from interfering with items outside the aluminum box.

How does an aluminum box block RF/EMI? Aluminum is a very electrically conductive material. Electricity flows easily through aluminum. A box made in aluminum would be electrically conductive. Items placed inside an aluminum box can take advantage of this electrical conductivity in many ways. Discussed here is the way radio waves disperse and are absorbed by the aluminum thus protecting electronics inside an aluminum box.

Aluminum boxes, because they are electrically conductive are a natural ground. Aluminum boxes are many times used as a “grounding plane” for the electrical components inside the aluminum box. This “ground” in this case is a common electrical circuit. Just like the chassis of the typical American Car, sometimes referred to the “negative pole” or “ground” of your car battery.

RF/EMI shielding are just a few of the many reasons aluminum boxes should be made using aluminum die casting. Kinetic Die Casting, Inc. will be happy to assist in your design and manufacture your aluminum box castings for your products.
