Aluminum Housing for Portable Devices in 2023
Aluminum Housing for Portable Devices. Portable devices, unlike their bigger counterparts, trade strength for portability. This trade-off is necessary to make the devices portable. Thinner and less dense materials are used to reduce the overall weight of the device. This can be seen in many delicate portable devices which break easily when handled incorrectly. However, there is a method that can be used to protect these devices while still maintaining their portability. This is done through the use of aluminum housings.
An aluminum housing is an enclosure that is designed to protect a device from physical trauma. The housing does this in both its interior and exterior. For exterior protection, the aluminum housing uses its shell as a shock absorber to lessen the impact felt by the device. For interior protection, the device is held in place by screws to prevent the device from moving around while inside the housing. In terms of aesthetics, the aluminum housing has a very plain, straightforward look which may be accented with ridges depending on the manufacturer. They come in a multitude of rich colors which add elegance to the aluminum housing.
Aluminum housings can be purchased in several stores including those that sell devices themselves. These stores however only sell housings that fit the devices they sell. The housings being sold all have predetermined specifications so that they can fit devices from multiple manufacturers. If an individual finds that his device is not compatible with any housing, he may contact aluminum manufacturing plants to have them create a custom housing for his device.

Aluminum Auto Parts Reduce Car Weight by Half in 2023
Aluminum Auto Parts Reduce Car Weight by Half
The automobile manufacturing industry has been using aluminum auto parts for many years now. Most of the cars that have been produced in the last few decades have parts that have been made from aluminum die casts. These parts include valve covers, aluminum alloy wheels, carburetors, and some specialty hardware components.
The concept was already afloat in the 1950s and 1960s when a researcher created car parts out of metal sheets that can be stretched five times more than those formed by standard techniques in molding. This made the conclusion that aluminum is a more cost-effective material in manufacturing auto parts.
Carmakers are aware that they will easily be able to shape aluminum auto parts as techniques are continuously being developed. Car parts made out of aluminum would be lighter and therefore, more fuel-efficient. The problem is that the metal often tears whenever they are stamped into shape. An automobile body’s weight can be reduced to half if aluminum will be used instead of steel. However, aluminum is still quite hard to form and shape.
Scientists have developed a process that combines the traditional metal stamping processes with electromagnetic forming technology. This hybrid of technology can then produce excellent auto parts without the aluminum getting torn in the process. The tool stamps the general shape of the automotive part while the electromagnetic pulses are in charge of helping form and refine the details.
With studies being conducted nonstop to perfect the processing of aluminum without tearing it, soon more and more aluminum auto parts will be incorporated into newly manufactured cars.

Processing of Die Casting used for Airplane Parts in 2023
Processing of Die Castings used for Airplane Parts. Die Castings used for airplane parts are increasingly demanded for the aircraft industry. This type of constructions need light weight for mobility. Moreover, it requires durability and resistances to several stresses while flying. Among metals, aluminum is processed to serve as frames or skeleton of the aircraft.
In the process of die casting, molten metal is quickly forced into a mold cavity, which is formed by two opposing dies. Very high pressures are maintained until the metal solidifies. As for aircrafts, the strength of aluminum is significantly increased by high pressure casting. It creates yield of 69%. Aluminum die castings used for airplane parts are strong against torsion and expansion stresses. These are important considerations since a flying aircraft is subjected to several forces.
In this machining process, there is always an associated imperfection called porosity. This is the amount of gas that combines with the solidifying metal, as it cools in the mold. Porosity is characterized by the size and number of air bubbles inside the finished product. There are three levels of porosity. The second and third levels are unacceptable when it comes to machining airplane parts. This is to guarantee safety of the passengers. Advanced technology in treating aluminum is applied to minimize the porosity of the frames.
Die castings used for airplane parts are usually made of different aluminum grades. For example, Al 7075 is commonly used for making frames because of its toughness. Al 5052 can be die casted into billets, planes, coils, tubes and bars.

How are Aluminum Military Parts Used in 2023?
How Are Aluminum Military Parts Used? Aluminum is an especially useful material for the military as there are countless military vehicles and equipment that are made from aluminum or with aluminum parts. The history of aluminum military parts can be traced back to 1892 when the French used aluminum for torpedo boats. In 1896, the United States Army used aluminum canteens and aluminum picket and tent pins. Sometime during the 1890s, the US Navy acquired several wide aluminum sheets to construct a large assembly (perhaps a ship superstructure). Aluminum also played a crucial role for Germany during the First World War as this was the material that Germany decided to use for their army tanks when iron and steel became scarce. During the Second World War, aluminum military parts were used for walkie-talkies, fuel drums for air transport, bridges and pontoons, searchlights, and aircraft landing mats. Presently, the military uses aluminum for its armor, vehicles, and missiles. Aluminum is the material of choice for military parts because it meets the military’s requirements for materials to be used for vehicles, weapons, and armor. Aluminum has the ability to improve protection, is light and mobile without compromising protection, is easy to weld yet is strong, and has the ability to resist corrosion under extreme weather conditions, and all these are factors that are taken into consideration when military equipment is manufactured.
