In die casting, when precision meets efficiency, every detail matters. Among the many factors that contribute to the success of the die casting process, the draft angle stands out as a crucial consideration. Often overlooked but essential, the draft angle …

Using New Cast Aluminum Boxes for Various Applications
Using New Cast Aluminum Boxes for Various Applications. Aluminum is material that is extensively being used today for various applications and purposes. One of the many purposes that it serves is to protect valuable items and component parts from harmful elements. As a result of this need, the die casting companies produced new cast aluminum boxes. These boxes are found in every product that requires a good shelter from different forms of contamination. They are popular as either storage spaces or protective covers for several items.
Aluminum boxes are prominent in vehicles as engine and transportation enclosures. They can be large enough to hold heavy equipments at the back of the trucks, or they can be small enough to be located inside the automobiles. They are electrically conductive and are highly durable which make them the ideal storage boxes for any types of vehicle.
Most computer and communication devices also utilize aluminum boxes and housings. In the manufacture of computer hardware, disk drives are produced with aluminum housings. The communication devices, on the other hand, are sheltered by aluminum casings in order to deter the unwanted radio frequencies and other technical interference.
Unlike with steel housings and compartments, the aluminum boxes do not have welded sides and corners. Because of their seamless looks, they are now being used in both homes and office spaces. You can find them as filing cabinets, drawers and even mailboxes.

Spending Less on Aircraft Parts with New Aerospace Die Castings
Spending Less on Aircraft Parts with New Aerospace Die Castings. In the aircraft industry, the cast aluminum metal has established a wide application in the production of both major and minor component parts. It has long been utilized in this field since the aviation entered the commercial scene. Even before the commercial aircrafts have given the chance to take off, the military has already used this metal along with its alloys for the manufacture of the parts of fighter planes. The good thing about the new aerospace die castings is that they are now geared to endure harsh weather conditions and increased damages.
Because of the recent rise in the cost of manufacturing materials, the owners of aircraft companies are now considering the potential of the aluminum casting technology. Cast aluminum is much more affordable than any other metals that are used in planes. Combined with other metals, it produces a piece that is extremely durable yet considerably flexible.
The use of aluminum die cast parts tends to allow the builders of aircrafts to cut on manufacturing expenses without even sacrificing the over-all quality of their trade. There is actually a certain standard that has been established for the use of aluminum in aircrafts so the parts are certified safe in the aerospace. Another good thing about an aluminum die cast part is that its weight appears to be favorable for the aircraft operations.

Why Did These California Die Casting Companies Close
I was thinking of my recent discovery of the closure of Die Cast Manufacturing Company in Bloomington California. The other casualties in the California die casting industry came to my mind:
- Die Cast Manufacturing Company, Bloomington California.
- Modern Die Casting Company, Paramount California.
- Lansco Die Casting Company, City of Industry California.
- Pomona Die Casting Company, Pomona California.
- C&D Die Casting Company, Chatsworth California.
- Chapman Die Casting Company, City of Industry California.
- Spencer Die Casting Company, Vernon California.
- Coast Die Casting Company, Gardena California.
- Compu Die Casting Company Compton California.
- Universal Die Casting Company, Los Angeles California.
- Del Mar Die Casting Company, Gardena California.
- Los Angeles Die Casting Company, Commerce California.
These companies either closed or were sold to competitors. My company, Kinetic Die Casting Company, purchased two die casting companies from the above list. Why did the companies that closed, close? That question comes to my mind frequently. These companies are all recent casualties, 10 years or less. There is a much longer list of closed die casting companies from over the last 30 years.
Some of my remaining competitors are still doing poorly. Three or four of these remaining California Die Casting companies are actively trying to sell their operations before they have to close. The ones that I cannot make an agreement with, I hope will be purchased by another competitor, or I hope they can hang in there until California can get “economic recovery”. Good luck to all of us California Manufacturers.

David Muench, President
Dear Dave Muench,
Where did you go? I knew you for over 20 years. My company, Kinetic Die Casting Company, ran die cast parts for your company, Die Cast Manufacturing Company, a few times. Your company ran parts for my company also. I drove by your building 12/16/2010 to wish you a Merry Christmas 2010, but your business is gone. Your company is closed and you left no forwarding address. I was told by your neighbors that you have been closed for almost a year. Before you closed, your electricity was shut off and you ran your die casting machines using a diesel generator. That when you closed, you cut up and scrapped your prized 1400 ton Harvil Die Casting Machine.
What happened? Why did you not call me? Were your die casting part prices too cheap? Did the cheap import die casting part prices close you? Did the economy close you? Did the increasing California Workers Compensation cost close you? Did the increasing California business regulations costs close you? Are you closed for good? How do your customers contact you? Where is their die cast tooling? Why did you not call me for help?
As you can see, I have several questions that I cannot ask you. You did not tell me how to contact you. I am sure that there are several customers that want to know where their tooling is, and how they can get die casting parts.
I am going to contact several common friends and suppliers to see if I can find you and help you if I can. If you see this open letter on my blog, please call me.

Why You Should Consider New Aluminum Lighting Fixture Parts
Why You Should Consider New Aluminum Lighting Fixture Parts. For some time, lighting fixtures for various applications are manufactured with great labor. The parts are carefully welded and shaped in order to make a good fit for the lighting source. Because of the seemingly complicated works that takes place in the manufacture of steel lighting parts, the cost of such pieces is relatively expensive. Those who cannot avail of the steel lighting parts are now considering the use of new aluminum lighting fixture parts for their products.
Aluminum is a kind of metal that is very pliable. It can easily conform to the desired shape and size of the manufacturer. However, even though it is malleable, it is still a durable material for lighting purposes. It is relatively more resistant to rusts and other harmful elements. Aside from this, aluminum also provides a good heating facility for the lighting fixtures that are used for thermal applications. Unlike with plastic, it does not “burn” with constant use.
Aluminum lighting fixture parts are available in various sizes and shapes. You can instantly acquire parts that are suitable for your lighting fixtures. Parts that are manufactured from cast aluminum are considerably lighter than steel. Because of this, you can have the pieces assembled and installed without having any troubles with them.
