Roofing Tile Molds as Die Castings
Roofing Tile Molds as Die Castings – One of the many products that Kinetic Die Casting Company has produced over the years is aluminum roof tile molds for companies that manufacture concrete roofing tile. I bring this up to discuss the limitations of Kinetic Die Casting Company’s manufacturing process.
Over a period of ten years, we produced over 100,000 of these aluminum roof tile molds in various styles. These parts ranged in weight of about three pounds to eight pounds and in size from a width of 8″ to 14″ and a length of 14″ to 17″. These are the largest parts our die casting machines will handle. We could produce these molds at a rate of 500 parts a day. We are happy to accept purchase orders of fewer than 200 parts.
We no longer make these roof tile molds. The company we made these parts for was sold and the new owner uses a different manufacturing process.
If you are looking for a part larger than 17″ or heavier than about 10 pounds, we cannot help you.
For parts smaller than these roof tile molds, we are very competitive and we can produce the parts for you rapidly. In most cases, we run production orders of fewer than 500 parts a day. Smaller parts we can produce over 1000 parts a day as our customers need them.

Aluminum Sand Cast Parts are sometimes a better choice than Aluminum Die Casting Parts
Aluminum Sand Cast Parts are sometimes a better choice than Aluminum Die Casting Parts
If you want less than 2,000 aluminum parts in your product life cycle, sometimes a part produced by the aluminum sand casting is a better choice for you.
Here are my calculations:
Aluminum Sand Casting Parts
Typical Tooling Cost: $500 – $1500
Typical Part Cost: $12 – $15 each
Cost for 1000 parts: $13,500
Cost for 2000 parts: $25,500
Aluminum Die Casting Parts
Typical Tooling Cost: $10,000 – $12,000
Typical Part Cost: $2.50 – $3.50 each
Cost for 1000 parts: $14,500
Cost for 2000 parts: $17,000
As you can see, the cost is less for an aluminum sand cast part, if you will buy less than 2000 parts. If you feel your product life is more than 2000 parts, you should consider buying aluminum die casting parts.

Casting Aluminum Tooling Works
The cost-efficient and timely production of a wide array of required equipment components owes much to die casting tooling. This is a critical performance area wherein the die casters and the designers have to put their heads together in product development and design. At this early stage, issues centered around tooling and production have to be fixed along with the identification of the many trade-offs that may be taken to effectively control the total project costs.
One excellent example of the successful collaboration of designers and die casters in Castings Aluminum Tooling is in the automobile business. Through their joint efforts, aluminum auto parts have been successfully planned and developed so much so that today aluminum now is the No. 2 material used in automobiles. The main impetus that inspired the designers–die casters’ collaborative efforts is the rising cost of fuel which spurred consumers’ renewed interest in lighter, more fuel-efficient and environment-friendly cars.
Among the Castings Aluminum Tooling factors pondered in aluminum auto components is the estimate that reducing car weight by 10% could result in consumption by 6% to 8%. Another consideration which may be parlayed in future Castings Aluminum Tooling is that a car weight reduction of 50% may be realized if the body of an automobile is made of aluminum. Substantial fuel savings would be achieved in such a shift, which was reckoned at about 3,000 liters saved for the average lifetime of a car, one Castings Aluminum Tooling endeavor that should be most welcome in these oil-crisis prone times.

Brass Die Casting Swimming Pool Parts
Brass Die Casting Swimming Pool Parts. Brass die casting swimming pool parts are a very good choice when finding fixtures and accessories for your swimming pool. Whether you are looking to purchase ladder anchor sockets, anchor wedges, escutcheon plates, valve handles, valve caps, cap screws, nuts, link bolts, pool anchors and pool anchor covers, hardware made of brass will give you all your money’s worth. There are a lot of reasons why most pool builders and owners prefer brass parts.
The most glaring reason is of course the fact that brass is one of the metal alloys out there that are most resistant to corrosion. Needless to say, this is a very important factor you need to consider when looking for swimming pool parts. You need parts that will stand the test of time and water. Brass die casting swimming pool parts are your best options if you want quality, durability and longevity.
It’s no secret that rust and corrosion are among the worst enemies of pool owners. Brass parts will lessen these problems. So the next time you go looking for new parts, whether as replacements for already corroded parts or as new installments, always prefer brass die casting swimming pool parts over other metal alloys. There are a lot of options when it comes to finding the perfect brass pool parts. There is of course the nearest hardware store in your area. In many cases however, it’s pretty hard finding brass parts in brick and mortar establishments. When this is the case, you can always go look for the parts online.

Commercial Die Casting 101: Tooling Made for Die Casting
Commercial Die Casting 101: Tooling Made for Die Casting. Nowadays, die casting is popular choice for metal-working in large scale productions. Modern automotive, aircraft and related industries require metal parts that are tough and durable. Die casting, other than being a shaping process, is inherently a metal treatment. The final product exhibits high yield and resistance to multi-directional loading. Here is a set of components and tooling made for die casting:
The most important elements in the method are the dies. A pair of cover and ejector halves is required to start the process. They contain the shape that the molten metal will follow. Unlike other types of casting, dies can produce very detailed pieces in just one processing. However, these parts must be kept clean and lubricated on every operation.
The cover die has an opening that receives the molten metal. It must be carefully lubricated so that the final product will be smooth. Another tooling made for die casting is the set of ejector pins, which are connected to the ejector die. They facilitate quick dropping of the solidified metal. In traditional methods like sand casting, you have to remove the final products from the mold manually.
Another important tooling made for die casting is the fluid line system. Water lines are used to feed water into the machine during compression. Water serves as lubricant and coolant to the contacting parts. Gas escape lines, on the other hand, allow gas to escape from the metal during shaping. If gasses are not allowed to escape, gas bubbles may be trapped in the finished product. Gas bubbles are indicators of high porosity, making the piece weaker to tensional stresses.
